Our journey takes us over Cervantes, known for the unique Pinnacle Desert and abundance of flora and fauna. Our low flight over the Pinnacles will provide a great photo opportunity. After Cervantes we head into the mid-west, home to one of the world’s finest collections of flowering plants with approximately 8,000 varieties. Greenough, our half-way point was one of the first settlements in WA. Our flight path take us over Geraldton, a port city that is renowned as a world leader in Rock Lobster fishing of world-class quality, a result of the pristine water conditions. Kalbarri’s coastline and nearby Abrolhos Islands were the final grave-yard for many ships and in 1629 Dutch East India trading ship the Batavia put two mutinous crew ashore near Red Bluff. The spectacular National Park is the result of millions of years of geological formation.

A short coach trip takes us to the famous Monkey Mia Beach where three generations of bottle nose dolphins have come into the Beach to interact with visitors. On arrival at the resort your pilot will show you the toilets, restaurant and other facilities as well as direct you to the beach as the dolphins may be awaiting your arrival. Morning tea is available at the resort restaurant along with lunch at 11.30am. Your time is now free to explore, swim, visit the Dolphin Information Centre and relax in this wonderful location.

We see St Andrew’s Church, made up entirely of shell blocks before heading into the Peron Peninsula. Our next stop is Hamelin Pool, which is where the Stromatolites are located. The Stromatolites are the worlds oldest living organisms, approximatley 3.5 Billion years old. The Stromatolites at Hamelin pool are internationally renowned as the most extensive examples on Earth.
